We received a donation offer from FM-KYOTO for a fund-raising program, "Hon de Bokin"!

Kyoto University has broadcast, in collaboration with FM-KYOTO, an FM radio station based in Kyoto, a series of tie-up programs called "Kyoto University Academic Talk" since April 2012. Our researchers introduced their research to the listeners as simply as possible, in the form of a dialogue with an interviewer, with the keyword "learning". (The program ended in March 2015.)
In a segment on books, we announced the activities of the Kyoto University Foundation and "Hon de Bokin" (fund-raising by donating books) project and received more offers and inquiries.

Recently, we received an offer from FM-KYOTO for "Hon de Bokin" and President Susumu Yoshida provided his books for the project.
President Yoshida told us that since the start of the project, he'd been thinking it was a good idea and wishing to donate books in the near future. He is a bookworm who posts book reports on his Facebook page. "I'm glad the books I enjoyed reading will be of use for supporting Kyoto University students. This is a new way of supporting education by citizens", he said.

"Education" is one of the key pillars of content creation by FM-KYOTO. This is because, they, fundamentally, have a responsibility, as a highly public radio station based in Kyoto, a student and college town, to produce educational and cultural programs and share them with listeners. "We support Kyoto University since we want you to play a leading role in education", said President Yoshida.
"Moreover, since Kyoto University is also supported by the local community of Kyoto, we want you to distribute knowledge to share it with the local community. At the same time, we want you to compete with overseas universities from the macro perspective to produce graduates who can contribute to the global community and send them from Kyoto to the world. We will support you not only with "Hon de Bokin" but also in various other ways, including distribution of information."

We received encouraging cheers to fulfill our mission.
