Project Support Fund
The Hagukumi Fund
for Outstanding Young Researchers
Would you like to support the next generation of top researchers?
Please support young researchers in a variety of fields!
For young researchers who will lead the next generation, Kyoto University operates the Hakubi Project (a program unique to Kyoto University that recruits researchers from all over the world who take on challenges with open and original ideas, regardless of academic fields, and supports them for five years), L-INSIGHT (a project to develop and implement programs to train future world-class researchers), and other support projects through internal funds.
As the financial situations surrounding national universities are becoming increasingly severe, each university needs to create a stable financial foundation of its own to find, employ, and train talented young researchers. Kyoto University established the Hagukumi Fund for Outstanding Young Researchers to give comprehensive support to the next generation of young researchers at the university.
Kyoto University plans to take the lead in utilizing this fund to provide various financial support to young researchers through projects implemented by the Hakubi Center and Kyoto University Research Administration Center (KURA). The fund is used to improve the research environment in all fields and to stimulate interdisciplinary exchange, while nurturing young researchers who can become world-class researchers in the future.
